June 2018 • Cornerstone Earth Group Participates in the First Annual Charity Golf Tournament for California Children's Services in San Jose
Cornerstone Earth Group participated at the First Annual Charity Golf Tournament for California Children's Services (CCS) at Cinnabar Golf Course in San Jose, CA. CCS is a state program for children up to 21 years old with certain diseases and health problems that provides health care and services including occupational and physical therapy. The golf tournament is a way to raise much needed money for this organization that is constantly underfunded by the State of California.

Dr. Claudio Sorrentino discussed the development of a 4-step process to protect current occupants of buildings near known or suspected releases of vapor forming chemicals (VFC's). The purpose of this 4-step process is to provide state-wide consistency in risk management protocols and to streamline the recommended approach in State guidance.

For the past twenty-seven years, this annual conference has helped to bring the environmental science community closer together by providing a forum to facilitate the exchange of information of technological advances, new scientific achievements, and the effectiveness of standing environmental regulation programs.

December 2017 • Cornerstone Earth Group's Holiday Party at The Silicon Valley Capital Club
Cornerstone Earth Group's employees and their guests (over 100 attendees) celebrated another successful year at the Silicon Valley Capital Club where there were amazing views of Santa Clara Valley, great food and drinks, an ice sculpture drink luge, a caricaturist, dancing, and the highlight of the evening - a karaoke contest. The winning singer won a weekend for two in Las Vegas where they attended a NHL game.

Cornerstone Earth Group's softball team, The Soil Whispers, advanced to the first round of the softball playoffs and battled it out with the number one seed team, AP+I/Barron. Unfortunately, AP+I/Barron won and eventually became tournament champion.

Congratulations to Forrest Leblo from our Sunnyvale office on his promotion to Principal, Laboratory Services. Forrest has over 19 years' experience of field and laboratory materials testing of soils, concrete and asphalt concrete, and oversees and performs soil laboratory testing for various construction projects.

March 2017 • City of San José Awards Three-Year Master Services Agreement for Environmental Services
The City of San José Environmental Services Department awarded Cornerstone Earth Group another three-year Master Services Agreement to provide Environmental Assessments, Investigation, and Remediation Services. Cornerstone was ranked highest of 25 firms who submitted qualifications and was ranked highest after the City of San José conducted interviews with the top six firms.

June 2016 • Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley
In May and June 2016, Cornerstone Earth Group provided pro bono services to Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley for their acquisition of an approximately 2-acre property in Walnut Creek. A multi-family residential development is planned on this property that was historically occupied by a private swim club and is bordered by two former railroad right-of- ways.
